Je faktor hitrega odziva, ki je v celicah vključen v imunske in vnetne reakcije in doseže svoj učinek z izražanjem citokinov ([[cytokines]]), kemokinov ([[chemokines]]), adhezijskih molekul celic ([[cell adhesion molecules]]), rastnim faktorjem in imunoreceptorjev. [2]&lt;br /&gt;
Ti jedrni faktorji so pogosto prisotni v velikem številu bolezni kot so rak, artritis, kronična vnetja, astma in srčne bolezni. [3]&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
NF-κB je bil prvič odkrit v laboratoriju z Nobelovo nagrado nagrajenega Davida Baltimore. Odkrit je bil preko njegove povezave z 11-bazo zaporednega para v ojačevalcu imunoglobina lahkih verig celic B.[4]&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Za inhibitor NF-kappa B je bilo ugotovljeno, da je pomemben mehanizem pri delovanju steroidov, nesteroidnih proti-vnetnih zdravilih in naravnih in sintetičnih sestavinah, ki kažejo terapevtske in preventivne aktivnosti. [5]&lt;br /&gt;
